In July 2019, Crédit Agricole Assurances announced that it had signed a non-life insurance partnership with the Spanish banking group Abanca, through an equally-owned joint venture, Abanca Generales de Seguros y Reaseguros S.A.

This alliance combines Abanca’s knowledge of its customers with Crédit Agricole Assurances’ stature in Europe. In particular, the company will benefit from a long-term exclusive right to distribute its products in Abanca’s banking and digital network. The transaction was approved by the European anti-trust authorities in October 2019.

It strengthens the Group’s presence in Europe and is in line with the Insurance business line’s strategy for development outside the Group’s distribution networks via

Crédit Agricole Assurances kept its promises by inaugurating its new Claims Management Unit in Fleury-sur-Orne, in the Caen conurbation, on June 3. If thirty people were recruited in 2020, the goal is to increase to seventy within three years and one hundred within five years.
