Job description

Summary of the position

 

The IGE Data Auditor is responsible for acquiring, executing, transforming, loading, analyzing, visualizing, and storytelling CACIB’s systems raw data in order to help identify existing and emerging risks, provide data analytics for audits and internal projects, as well as automate audit testing to increase the breadth, depth and speed of audit coverage, thus providing higher levels of assurance. The Data Auditor is also expected to document the technical specifications of re-usable queries, extracts, or analysis with source information, key fields, and usage. The Data Auditor performs audit work as needed, where he/she can provide feedback or guidance on how data analysis can improve the audit coverage.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Audit assignments and Continuous Monitoring

  • Identify and acquire the necessary data from relevant source systems used by Internal Auditors to develop data analytics needed to support IGE team
  • Contribute to audits’ planning, analyzing data and identifying areas to automate the testing
  • Present automation proposals to IGE’s management on existing processes and/or testing
  • Collaborate with audit teams to design and execute testing
  • Perform testing creating codes that can be used in different audits
  • Design, document, and build data analytics scripts to meet specific audit objectives and determine if these can be reused on a continuous basis to strengthen the assessment of internal controls
  • Publish analytics results to the Internal Audit teams, and provide support / training as necessary to interpret and refine the results of the analytics provided
  • Expand the library of Python automation scripts currently used by the department during continuous monitoring mission

 

IGE Continuous Improvement Program / Transversal topics

The Data Auditor contributes to the continuous improvement of IGE methodologies and processes. As part of his/her responsibilities, he/she can be requested to:

  • Build and share knowledge (e.g. through contributing to SynerGIA, preparing and presenting Knowledge Express, taking active part in various Methods and Support projects)
  • Perform continuous monitoring of the different portfolios and business lines by analyzing data and trends using data analytics
  • Prepare different committee presentations, summarizing the findings from the continuous monitoring performed
  • Actively participate in global initiatives aimed at improving Internal Audit’s processes and procedures
  • Maintain and update a data tools inventory (that will contain code, user guides produced during audits)
  • Actively participate in one or several knowledge communities within IGE

Role specific requirements
Data Auditor must comply with the CACIB Audit Charter, in particular the five fundamental ethical principles (integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, expertise, and transparency) and all other locally applicable regulations.

    Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent
    Training / Specialization
    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering , statistics or data analytics (e.g. business intelligence)
    3-5 years of experience in Audit, with at least 2 years of experience in data analytics
