Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pricing team lead for our partners based in France:

  • Liaise with our Business Development team to understand our partners’ evolving needs
  • Monitor and interrogate emerging insurance data to examine trends and ensure that our products provide value and meet the needs of our customers
  • Build / modify the product offer (contracting, pricing, new guarantees)
  • Conduct detailed actuarial analyses, make appropriate assumptions, communicate results to the stakeholders (including senior management) and make recommendations in a fast-paced environment
  • Prepare profitability/stress scenarios to assess the technical feasibility of the proposed marketing solutions
  • Perform backtesting analyses to confirm the appropriateness of our best estimate assumptions
  • Contribute towards the development of the software tools used by the underwriting department (mainly pricing tool, business plan tool...)
  • Support and assist pricing colleagues and Pricing and Underwriting Manager in developing/documenting underwriting guidelines
  • Participate in ad-hoc technical reports/projects, representing Pricing/Actuarial viewpoint and considerations
  • Comply with the company’s Underwriting Policy and governance when preparing pricing proposals
  • Proactively engage with the wider business to ensure optimal impact of Pricing work
  • Leverage experience and partner knowledge to propose solutions to various queries as they arise, at times in the absence of existing structures

People First:

  • Recruit and integrate new joiners into the French Pricing Team / CACI
  • Facilitate the development of Team members through regular feedback, guidance and coaching, to help them reach their potential within CACI
  • Proactive and continuous performance management to recognise success and help identify areas for further growth
  • Prioritise and delegate workload and projects to Team members, to ensure a successful delivery of Team’s objectives while following good governance
  • Promote CACI’s culture within the team, advocating for collaboration and knowledge sharing while contributing to employee engagement
  • Ensure adherence to all HR policies and procedures within the Team
  • Represent the French Pricing Team (and their best interests) in various meetings/forums as required

External Relations:

  • With other Actuarial teams in both CACI / Dublin and CAA / France, Business Development dept., other departments and head office
  • With management including Pricing and Underwriting Manager, Actuarial and Underwriting, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer
  • With Auditors, Internal audit, corporate clients & third party administrators
  • Attend partner committees
  • Attend other meeting as necessary and/or as delegate of pricing manager (e.g. NAP, Business committee, OAC)

 

    • Minimum level of study
    • Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent
    • Training / Specialization
    • Qualification:
      • Role requires an actuary with a minimum of 4 years’ experience.  The role may also be adapted for candidates with strong analytical background and experience in areas covering finance/insurance and statistics/data analytics.

      Experience:
      • Minimum 4 years experience
      • Pricing background advantageous
      • People management experience preferred
    • Minimum experience level
