How would you describe the position of “DevOps Engineer”?

DevOps is short for DEVelopment and OPerationS. It is not just a profession (rather male-dominated), but comprises new working methods that aim to bring together the two “worlds” (bring a feminine touch). As OPS, my aim is to understand and work closely with DEVs to provide them with the tools needed to speed up development and make it more reliable.

What are the peak periods of your job during the year?

The Frozen Zone period, during the summer and the end of the year, provides an opportunity to slow down the pace. Otherwise the rest of the time is made up of peak periods: manage requests, projects, support needs and be attentive to changes.

Can you describe your typical day?

While there is no such thing as a typical day, it always begins with a coffee and a chat. After that, everything is a matter of adaptation, knowing how to manage the unexpected while working on core projects.

What career path is required to reach your position and what are the possibilities for development?

There are no standard career paths for this job. An excellent knowledge system/network/middleware is the foundation, a critical and analytical mind, curiosity, the ability to work in a team, adaptability and autonomy are the main assets.
