Question 1: Could you introduce your background and current role?
With an accounting background, I complemented my studies with a bachelor’s degree in back and middle office operations.
I started at BNP Assurances as a Life Insurance Contract Manager in the Wealth Management back office.
In 2006, I joined HSS France as an OPCVM accountant; the entity was acquired by CACEIS in 2010.
In 2013, I moved to CAL&F as a Securitisation Account Manager, where I was responsible for commercial receivables securitisation programmes.
In 2019, I decided to move into prudential consolidation and joined CASA. I contributed to producing COREP and MREL reporting for the 39 Regional Banks.
Since January 2024, I have been a Data Management Officer within the Finance, Risk and Reporting Department.

Question 2: Could you describe your main responsibilities?
My primary role is to provide the entities within my scope with dashboards based on quarterly production data, to analyse “critical” anomalies identified when data flows are ingested into the “Zone de Partage”, and to drive the corrective action plans to be implemented at entity level.
We also act in an advisory capacity, working with DOP/CFR to maintain the various controls (presence, consistency, value, reference data) applied in the “Zone de Partage” and, ultimately, the guidelines and shared taxonomies that define the characteristics of Risk and Finance data (collection scope, business rules, expected format, etc.).
We are also called upon by business users for ad hoc data quality topics, supporting entities in remediating the anomalies identified.

Challenge . Cohesion . Collaboration .

Question 3: What are the key highlights of your role?
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the year is punctuated by several data-flow certification campaigns.
These certification periods, whether for new flows or for version upgrades, involve reviewing the dossiers received from each entity and ensuring they are complete and compliant with the Group’s certification strategy and standards, before the data is moved into production in the “Zone de Partage”.

Question 4: What career development opportunities do you see?
There are many opportunities to move into other roles within the Risk or Finance Business Lines, or into positions related to data.

Question 5: How would you describe a typical day?
There is no real “typical day”. My schedule changes with new business needs and regulatory developments: for example, compliance with BCBS 239, which affects all data contributors.
Although each analyst has a clearly defined scope, knowledge-sharing and teamwork are central to our day-to-day work. Days are generally dedicated to monitoring production remediation and supervising the work carried out by entities in the certification environment.

The Data Quality team also participates in various central committees where the quality indicators produced are presented:

  • Financial Closing Committee
  • Finance & Risk Data Governance & Quality Committee
  • Mutualised Collection Committee
  • Score Monitoring Committee

Social events are organised at least every three months with all cross-functional teams in the Department.

Question 6: What message would you like to share with those considering a similar role?
I encourage anyone who wants a cross-functional view of Finance and Risk topics and has strong analytical skills to consider a role focused on data processing and quality assurance.
