What is the opportunity?
Custody is one of the core products and services in CACEIS, where the Malaysia team manages trade settlement, client services, onboarding, corporate actions and income processing.


This role reports to the Head of Department of Custody Malaysia with primary responsibility of providing leadership for a diverse group of talents and upholding client satisfaction amidst the landscape of global asset servicing.


Working hours: 9:00AM - 6:00PM


What will you do?

Strategy

  • Working alongside peers from other locations of Global Custody, to actively contribute to ideas and influence stakeholders in shaping the strategic priorities of the global function surrounding operating model, frameworks of control and governance, and product enhancement roadmap.
  • Locally define, plan, and execute strategic initiatives in line with the strategic goals of Malaysia encompassing Client, People, Business, and Financials.
  • Takes accountability in delivery of global and local strategic initiatives pertaining to Custody Malaysia.

Client Satisfaction

  • Act as mid-senior escalation contact for clients in resolving operational issues
  • Collaborate the client service team in data capture, anticipate and proactive support to address operational issues
  • Builds relationship with client for growth partnership

People & Talent

  • Leading by example through exemplary behaviour in embodiment of CACEIS Values
  • Actively groom internal talent from both aspect of vertical progression and transversality
  • Not limited to the current business unit, provide coaching to young talents in developing leaders of tomorrow

  • Ensures well delivery of services in line with business objectives
  • Develop and define key metrics aligned with organizational goals
  • Design and implement frameworks for tracking the adoption of processes, controls, technologies, and initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to optimize the current operating model and its processes
  • Govern business resources to ensure the financial plan is met

Processes, Controls, and Governance

  • Ensure well adherence of internal controls within operations units and the control framework is well adopted
  • Uphold and periodically strengthen the internal escalation framework
  • Ensure awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
  • Deliver effective governance in compliance with applicable internal policies and external laws and regulations, overseeing changes in business controls as required
  • Manage changes and reporting in line with all relevant risk management frameworks, where applicable
  • Act quickly and decisively to resolve any risk and control weakness, ensure they are addressed and remediated within appropriate timeframes, and escalated through the relevant committees

    • Minimum a Bachelor's Degree

    What do you need to succeed?Must-have
    • Minimum 10 years in the asset servicing industry with at least 5 years in a management role overseeing more than 30 people under the span of control.
    • Good knowledge about the fund services industry and financial market in general
    • Demonstrable leadership in 3 or more diverse functions
    • Strong comprehension in understanding an issue and problem-solving skills.
    • Clear and concise communication with excellent message-adaptation to cater to multiple levels of target audience
    • Strong sense of urgency in dealing with every issue with strong ability to simplify complex issues
    • Strong stakeholder influencing and management
    Nice-to-have
    • A client-first mindset
    • Strong understanding in Custody products as well as various specifics of APAC markets
    • Experience in handling Custody products not limited to trade settlement, payments, cash management / funding, FX operations, securities lending, corporate actions/ income, or tax services.
