In July 2019, Crédit Agricole Assurances announced that it had signed a non-life insurance partnership with the Spanish banking group Abanca, through an equally-owned joint venture, Abanca Generales de Seguros y Reaseguros S.A.

This alliance combines Abanca’s knowledge of its customers with Crédit Agricole Assurances’ stature in Europe. In particular, the company will benefit from a long-term exclusive right to distribute its products in Abanca’s banking and digital network. The transaction was approved by the European anti-trust authorities in October 2019.
