Crédit Agricole Group’s Diversity Month opened on Thursday 2 November. This Group-wide initiative promotes an ever more inclusive culture, cultivating diversity, raising awareness among employees and highlighting the Group’s concrete actions. At the heart of the Group’s Human-centric and Societal Projects, Crédit Agricole Group’s Diversity Policy aims to strengthen the Group’s commitments across five dimensions: openness & curiosity, representativeness, equal opportunities, solidarity and responsibility.

Over the past 5 weeks, employees have taken part in workshops, conferences and training. Each week focused on one of the dimensions of the Diversity Policy, the Group’s commitments, and allowed employees to experience diversity in order to accelerate the managerial and cultural transformation and strengthen the Group’s Human-centric Project.

Check out the details of the last two weeks:

  • Week 3 – Solidarity

Solidarity is about putting one’s energy into a cause that benefits others, by showing empathy in order to understand them better and include them in the community.

During the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities held from 20 to 26 November, Dimitri Jozwicki, para-athlete and Guy Tisserant, a former Paralympic champion, spoke about how they rose to the challenge of living with their disability and became ‘champions’.

That same week, employees took part in various events including a demonstration workshop with another Paralympic champion, Moëz El Assine, as well as Paralympiades to test out blind football, wheelchair basketball, rifle shooting for the visually impaired and table tennis.

  • Week 4 – Responsibility

Responsibility is about setting an example on a daily basis. It is also a question of fixing objectives, evaluating progress, and ensuring compliance with and deployment of the Diversity Policy. This is the responsibility of the Group, but also of each employee.

To conclude this Diversity Month, three conferences were organised.

Benoît Serre, Deputy Vice-President ANDRH Partner & Director HR People Strategy from Boston Consulting Group, Christophe Jacolin, Head of Environmental Strategy & Social Governance from Crédit Agricole S.A. Group, Danielle Baron, Global Head Energy & Real Assets from Crédit Agricole CIB, emphasise that diversity is not just an internal topic, even though it does fuel our performance. It also has a real impact on our customers and makes a positive contribution to society.

Jean-Michel Monnot, Founder and Director of All Inclusive, examined diversity and inclusion to raise awareness of stereotypes and cognitive biases.

Laura Baruffaldi, a Lecturer in Leadership from SDA Bocconi presented a subject on inclusive leadership and how to manage complexity.
